All My Tears April 29th, 2007

Phil Martin

When I go, don’t cry for me
In my Father’s arms I’ll be
The wounds this world left on my soul
Will all be healed and I’ll be whole.
Sun and moon will be replaced
With the light of Jesus’ face
And I will not be ashamed
For my Savior knows my name.

It don’t matter where you bury me,
I’ll be home and I’ll be free.
It don’t matter where I lay,
All my tears be washed away.

Gold and silver blind the eye
Temporary riches lie
Come and eat from heaven’s store,
Come and drink, and thirst no more

It don’t matter where you bury me
I’ll be home and I’ll be free
It don’t matter where I lay
All my tears be washed away

So, weep not for me my friends,
When my time below does end
For my life belongs to Him
Who will raise the dead again.

It don’t matter where you bury me,
I’ll be home and I’ll be free.
It don’t matter where I lay,
All my tears be washed away.

even needful death is not particularly happy

Just Need to Get Away April 2nd, 2007

Phil Martin

some rough things are happening right now, and yesterday, I had an opportunity to get away with my friend and tech boss/intern Joel Foster, so I took it.

We decided to just drive. So we drove by a big rock painted like an elephant, and stopped and took pictures. We took pictures by a lake.

We drove clear out of New York and into Vermont. We stopped at an Apple reseller, we went into Barnes and Noble. We stopped at Starbucks and I had an espresso brownie, and he had a frappachino. We finally ended up at Pizza Hut and ate dinner with his three sisters. And then we drove back to the BI. Lots of good talking.

Once back we watched How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. Not a bad chick flick. It was a good day, and a good way to get away.

Spring Break April 2nd, 2007

Phil Martin

Hi. I had an awesome Spring Break, and it is about time I told you about it.

I went to Elizabethtown, PA. My girlfriend was there. I had a blast.

Oh, you wanted details, well, alright.

My girlfriend is beautiful. (More? *sigh* ok.)

My first day there was spent in a drive back from the BI. She and her dad and brother drove up to WOLBI to get me (through snowstorms to boot). I showed them around campus on Satuday morning, and we got in in time for dinner. And then we went to bed or something.

Sunday we went to church, and out to eat at Friendlies, and shared some ice cream, and then we went to the Blanks place (Wycliffe Missionaries). I see the Blanks over breaks now, but always with a different family. Who next? I don’t know.

Monday we went to WalMart (maybe it was really Kmart) and other places. She bought me James Bond: Casino Royal for my birthday (YEAH!) I also was able to get some new jeans and tennis shoes for missions reality (also thanks to her and her sister). At a second hand store I bought a stuffed Snoopy for 50cents, and a nice picture frame that said “Angel” on the top.

We hung out for a few days and just did whatever. I forget sequence now. One day we went to Washington, DC, and saw some monuments, and took our picture by a bronze statue of somebody. We also went by the Smithsonian Air and Space Museam, and I got my picture taken next to R2D2 and C3PO!! Saw some planes and space stuff too. And that evening we had dinner with a supporter at Ruby Tuesdays(?). I had two mini-burgers (so cute and good) and the salad bar, and a mad good salad. Had lots of laughs and good sharing of stories with the supporter.

We also went bowling one day, and hung out with her family, I think that was Thursday. Anyhoo, Hannah and I had fun sitting on the couch, watching movies, and being together.

Sadly, I had to leave her again on Saturday, and I spent half of Saturday in the car with her dad. Plenty of good talks. And the rest of Saturday I watched movies, as I did on Sunday, and half of Monday.

And then the school year started again.

so that was break
