After a nap, I found my piece of amazing. I am now re-editing in earnest, and should be done tonight. The piece of treasure I found was the song “A Hero Comes Home” from the Beowulf soundtrack. Adds just the touch of the epic, the powerful, and the emotion that I needed.
I am also learning again the fundamental rule of editing: cut, cut, cut. Once you have found a piece of footage that you absolutely love, you must divorce yourself from it, and most likely cut it. Only the best scenes survive, and you must be brutal when editing, and this leaves you with stunning footage.
Ok, back to chopping.
